1 in 7 businesses lose day or more to cyber events

One in seven businesses have lost a day or more to a cyber event in the last 12 months, according to global research for commercial insurer QBE, which also emphasises that a major share of cyber attacks stem from a supplier’s vulnerability.

In addition, a Control Risks report for QBE has found that successful, significant cyber incidents have grown 42% in Europe and North America between 2023 and 2024, driven by geopolitical factors such as the war in Ukraine.
