Competition and Markets Authority Private Motor Insurance Order 2015 amendment

It’s been 10 years since the requirements of the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) Private Motor Insurance Order 2015 became effective and the CMA have recognised that the insurance market has evolved. Consumers now have wider access to information about no claims bonus protection, and the introduction of the Consumer Duty has established a higher standard of transparency and consumer protection than was available at the time the Order was introduced.

As a result, the CMA have provisionally found that Part 2 and Part 4 of the Order are no longer appropriate and should be removed . . .
