Travel Insurance for consumers with pre-existing medical conditions

In December 2024, the FCA consulted in Quarterly Consultation Paper CP24/26 to increase the medical condition trigger point at which firms are required to signpost consumers to a medical cover firm directory. The consultation proposed increasing the trigger point to £175. This amount was proposed to be reflective of cost and premium increases since the introduction of the rules. Feedback from respondents to the consultation, cited a range of factors, suggesting that the increased to £175 was too low. As a result, the FCA will increase the trigger point to £200 with effect from 1st January 2026 . . .
